Droid X ad hits iPhone 4 with antenna jab

I understand that people are getting rather excited about the Droid X.Well, iPhone 4 has been out for a week, so, this being cell phone technology, it is only right that people get excited about something else. However, those crafty Droid folks have not merely a finger on the pulse, but a whole hand wrapped around it. I have reason to believe it is their left hand.

In an ad in Wednesday's New York Times began to tout Droid X's countless wonders, Droid X is, well, big and very Droidy. However, there is one other thing that those nice people at Motorola would like to point in passing, by the by and just in case you didn't know.May I quote? "And most importantly, it comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls." droidxadI know there will be some who will think long and hard about what this little line might be referencing. Others will leap like a salmon in mating season toward the concept that Droid X is allegedly rather better at making: receiving and maintaining calls than the iPhone 4.Droid X is, so the inference screams, especially better for those who may (or may not) like to clutch their phones in their left hands while leaving their right free to multitask to its knuckles' content. It will be truly fascinating to see, on its launch day of July 15, just how many people stand in line to get their hands on this no doubt fine new phone. As the ad says, in all its subtlety: "You have a voice. You deserve to be heard." How many will heed the cry? Quite a few. Or, at least, so I've heard.
